What is Pinterest for? How can it help me with my business?

These questions are the most asked questions that I am getting from my clients and audience and I get it. But the problem is that growth is really subjective on business. For some people, growth can be about getting more people on the pipeline, for some, it may be all about jacking up the revenue line, and for others, serving more people with their products and services. so growth may vary.

While we can argue that Pinterest is a great platform for you to start growing your traffic, build brand awareness, and build an email list organically, you can also get sales through Pinterest ads. And I think that your growth can also vary depending on your pin strategy.

In 2019, a best practice FAQ released by Tailwind said that they found out that their most successful members pin around 15 to 25 pins a day. But what if you do not have enough content to reach that?

So here are a few suggestions:

  1. For starters you can pin 10 pins a day, 2 fresh pins from you and the rest can repin (make sure that there is a one-week interval for each repins) and pins from other people, a combination of smart feed pin, group board or Tailwind tribe.
  2. Create new content at least once a week.  in this strategy, you can create new blogs and feature topics such as product reviews, FAQs, and other educating and nurturing posts.
  3. Pay attention to your images and descriptions. I cannot reiterate this much but Pinterest is a search engine platform so make sure that you are searchable both visually and through text. Regardless of how many pins you pin a day, one pin that gives a much better experience to your audience is much better than 10 pins that don’t have quality
  4. Incorporate hashtags on your pins and do not forget to use Pinterest trends to see what keywords are working for a particular season.

So focus on the pins and content that you think matters to your audience and you will get rewarded. Happy pinning!
